Nowadays, mastery of foreign languages, especially English, is considered essential for the younger generation. Considering that English is a universal language used as a communicative language in a broad scope.
Therefore, efforts to master English through school and courses are really needed, especially for self-development and communication skills improvement, either in educational activities, business development, or job applications.
This was conveyed by the Vice Regent of Natuna, Rodhial Huda, in his speech at the First Batch Graduation Ceremony of Library English Class (LEC), which is a 2022-2023 program of the Global English Course (GEC). It was held at the Department of Regional Library and Archives of Natuna Regency, Jalan Sihotang, Ranai, Saturday, (14/01).
Rodhial added that the local government is currently focusing on educational development programs, is proven by the scholarship program for outstanding students to continue their education at a number of universities in Indonesia.
According to Rodhial, the educational program implemented by GEC is considered very good and systematic, students can easily understand the teaching and learning process presented. However, the results will undoubtedly vary depending on how serious the students are about following the lesson.
Therefore, students who have taken part in the course program are advised to constantly improve their English skills, so that, in the future, they will be able to increase their confidence in communicating with their mastery of and ability to communicate well in English.
The Head of the Department of Regional Library and Archives of Natuna Regency, Erson Gempa Afriandi, stated in his speech this activity was the result of a collaborative program between the Department of Regional Library and Archives and GEC.
Later, Erson hoped this program would motivate new other students enrolled in the course to study harder, particularly in mastering English, a universal language. (Pro_copym/Sri)
