Women’s organizations must continue to innovate to maintain their relevance and provide benefits to society. Moreover, amid budget efficiency measures, these organizations are encouraged to strengthen collaboration with local governments and related institutions to increase the success rate of their programs.
This was conveyed by Regent of Natuna, Cen Sui Lan, in her remarks during the regular meeting and Halal Bihalal of the Natuna Women’s Organizations Association (GOW), held at Sri Serindit Restaurant, Jalan Dtk Kaya Wan Muhammad Benteng, Ranai, on Saturday afternoon (April 19).
The event was also attended by several GOW advisors, the Vice Chairwoman of Muslimat NU, the Head of the Office for Women Empowerment, Child Protection, and Family Planning, chairwomen of various women’s organizations across Natuna Regency, and other GOW members and cadres.
In her address, the Regent of Natuna expressed her highest appreciation to all female organization members in Natuna who have been working hand-in-hand to contribute to the region’s development.
She especially acknowledged the GOW board for their dedication and sense of togetherness in supporting the region’s development efforts.
Cen Sui Lan emphasized that women play a crucial role in various aspects of life. Beyond their responsibilities in public and community spheres, women also bear significant responsibilities at home — as mothers who nurture and raise children, and as wives supporting their husbands.
The Chairwoman of GOW Natuna, represented by GOW Secretary Husnaini Ridwan, thanked the Regent of Natuna for attending the event.
In her speech, Husnaini explained that GOW Natuna currently serves as an umbrella organization for 23 women’s groups from diverse backgrounds, including those from the military and police, as well as political and professional organizations. The goal is to unite these organizations under one shared vision and mission to enhance women’s roles in the implementation of regional development.
She further elaborated that since being inaugurated in 2022, GOW has carried out various programs, particularly in the fields of education, women’s empowerment, and social activities, all of which are funded through the self-contributions of GOW members. (Prokopim/Patli)
