Natuna Regent Cen Sui Lan, accompanied by Riau Islands Governor Ansar Ahmad, conducted an official visit to inspect the kitchen facilities of the Nutrition Fulfillment Service Unit (SPPG) in Natuna on Monday morning (August 11).
The purpose of this inspection was to ensure that nutrition services provided in schools meet established standards for health and food safety.
During the visit, the delegation thoroughly examined various aspects of the kitchen facility, including the cleanliness of food preparation areas, storage of raw ingredients, and the availability of essential cooking equipment.
Governor Ansar, accompanied by Regent Cen Sui Lan, also engaged in a brief discussion with the SPPG staff regarding food preparation procedures and the monitoring of ingredient quality.
On this occasion, Regent Cen Sui Lan emphasized that safe and nutritious food plays a vital role in supporting the healthy development of the younger generation. She expressed hope that all meals served would meet hygiene and nutritional standards in accordance with SPPG operational protocols.
Governor Ansar Ahmad also took the opportunity to symbolically hand over Rapid Test Kits to the SPPG Natuna team. These kits are intended for testing raw food ingredients to ensure they are free from harmful bacterial contamination and safe for student consumption.
According to Governor Ansar, the Rapid Test Kits will assist kitchen staff in conducting quick tests, particularly for seafood and fresh meat—key components of daily meal menus.
Lutfia Febriana, Head of SPPG Natuna, conveyed her appreciation for the attention and support from both the provincial and district governments. She stated that the provision of these tools would strengthen the internal food safety monitoring system and help reduce the risk of foodborne illnesses.
This visit serves as a tangible example of collaboration between the provincial and district governments in promoting student health through the provision of nutritious, safe, and high-quality meals—aligned with ongoing efforts to enhance human resource quality in Indonesia’s border regions.
