Pre-Musrenbang on Stunting for Natuna Regency 2025 Officially Opened, Regional Secretary Urges Stronger Commitment to Improve Interventions

The Regional Secretary of Natuna Regency, Boy Wijanarko Varianto, officially opened the Pre-Musrenbang (Development Planning Forum) Thematic Stunting Forum (Stunting Summit) for Natuna Regency 2025. The event took place in the Meeting Room of the Natuna Regent’s Office, Jalan Batu Sisir Bukit Arai, Ranai, on Wednesday morning (June 4).

The event was attended by several heads of regional apparatus organizations, including the Head of BP3D, the Head of the Department of Women’s Empowerment, Child Protection, Population Control and Family Planning (DP3AP2KB), and the Head of the Health Department. Also present were subdistrict heads (camat), the Chair of the Indonesian Doctors Association (IDI), the Chair of the Malay Customary Institution, representatives from the PKK Team, community leaders, and other invited guests.

In his opening remarks, Boy Wijanarko emphasized that stunting remains a serious challenge in the development of human resources in Natuna Regency.

He explained that according to the 2024 Indonesian Nutrition Status Survey (SSGI), the stunting prevalence rate in Natuna stands at 18.50%. Meanwhile, based on the 2024 simultaneous intervention activities using the Community-Based Electronic Nutrition Recording and Reporting System (e-PPGBM), the figure stands at 10.76%, with 535 stunted children under five recorded.

Therefore, Boy urged all stakeholders, especially those directly involved, to adapt to the changing circumstances and to remain focused on improving the quality of stunting interventions, despite the increasingly limited capacity of the regional government.

On the same occasion, the Head of BP3D Natuna, Mustafa Al Bakrie, stated that the purpose of this Pre-Musrenbang is to serve as a platform for communication and appreciation among stakeholders, as well as to review achievements and action plans aimed at reducing stunting rates in Natuna.

During the event, a joint commitment declaration was also signed as part of the collective effort to prevent and accelerate the reduction of stunting in Natuna Regency. (Pro_kopim/D&S)
