Opening the Grand Meeting of BPPKR, Deputy Regent of Natuna Hopes the Team Remains United in Pursuing the Establishment of Ranai City Government

On Wednesday morning (16/04), Deputy Regent of Natuna, Jarmin, attended and officially opened the Grand Meeting of the Committee for the Establishment of Ranai City (BPPKR) held at Sisi Basisir Restaurant, Jalan Datuk Kaya Wan Muhammad Benteng, Ranai, East Bunguran District.

The event was attended by several members of the Riau Islands Provincial DPRD, members of the Natuna Regency DPRD, former regional heads and deputy heads, the Chairperson of the Natuna Malay Traditional Council and representatives from the Greater Bunguran area, sub-district heads, village heads, village council members (BPD), community leaders, and youth representatives.

In his opening remarks, Jarmin expressed that the ongoing struggle to establish Ranai as a municipality (Pemko Ranai) and to form the Special Province of Natuna-Anambas has received mixed responses from the broader public. However, given the solidarity and unity evident in the current movement, he believes that the effort will eventually bear the desired results.

Furthermore, Jarmin urged all elements involved in the struggle to pay attention to several critical matters, including the fulfillment of administrative requirements. These range from conducting comprehensive studies to gathering supporting data and continuously voicing the urgency of the matter to national-level policymakers.

Finally, he expressed his hope that this event would result in a shared agreement, where every figure could contribute thoughts, ideas, and constructive suggestions that would help accelerate the achievement of their goal—the establishment of the City Government of Ranai (Pemko Ranai).
