In his remarks, Boy expressed his gratitude to various parties, especially BVMBG who had conducted geological research at the Serasan Island landslide site.

He hoped that all the information obtained would become a reference for the observation process, early prevention, and handling of disasters that might occur in the future.

Meanwhile, PVMBG representative of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, Anjar Heriwaseso on the occasion conveyed several points from the results of the research conducted, that there were several factors that triggered the ground movement that occurred on Serasan Island, including hills of plutonic igneous rock, weathered soil and also the existence of a sliding field between granodiorite bedrock and weathered soil, as well as very high rainfall.

Geologically, the disaster area is located in valleys and hills with steep slopes. In addition, based on field findings, the avalanche material at the disaster site is in the form of debris and a mixture of soil, rocks and vegetation (Pro_kopim/irles).
