Natuna Regent Joins Riau Islands Leaders’ Forum to Strengthen Regional Governance and Healthcare Cooperation

Tanjungpinang, September 12, 2025 — Natuna Regent Cen Sui Lan attended the Regional Leadership Coordination Forum (Forkopimda) and Inter-Regional Government Coordination Meeting for the Riau Islands Province, held at the Governor’s Office in Dompak, Tanjungpinang. The high-level gathering brought together governors, regents, mayors, legislators, and security officials to reinforce collaborative governance and cross-sector policy alignment.

A key outcome of the meeting was the signing of a cooperation agreement between the Provincial Government and DPRD (Regional Parliament) of Riau Islands with district and city governments across the province. The agreement prioritizes funding support for the education of specialist and sub-specialist doctors, addressing a critical shortage of medical professionals, particularly in border regions such as Natuna.

Regent Cen welcomed the initiative, emphasizing that investing in medical education is a fundamental step to improve public services and healthcare quality. “Ensuring access to specialist doctors is crucial for strengthening health resilience in Natuna and other frontier areas,” she said.

Beyond healthcare, the forum also served as a platform to consolidate regional stability efforts, including law enforcement, security, and public order—key foundations for sustaining development across the province.

The event was attended by the Governor of Riau Islands, DPRD leaders, regents, mayors, and Forkopimda representatives, underscoring a shared commitment to effective, responsive, and community-oriented governance across the archipelago. (Prokopim)
