Natuna Regent Inspects BLT Distribution in Midai, Reaffirms Commitment to Reducing Extreme Poverty

As part of his working visit to Midai and Suak Midai Districts, the Regent of Natuna observed the distribution process of the Direct Cash Assistance (BLT) at the Midai Post Office on Tuesday morning (25/11).

The BLT distribution is part of a regional assistance program funded through the Natuna Regency Regional Budget (APBD). The Natuna Social Affairs Office serves as the implementing agency, working in collaboration with the Post Office to ensure that the assistance reaches eligible families.

This aid is specifically allocated for underprivileged households and elderly residents whose economic conditions require direct government support. Through this program, the regional government aims to provide an economic stimulus for communities affected by increasingly diverse social and economic challenges.

During the visit, the Regent emphasized that the provision of BLT is not merely a form of concern from the local government, but a concrete commitment to easing the burden on residents. He stated that the government will continue to monitor and support programs that have a direct impact on improving public welfare.

According to the Regent, BLT also serves as a strategic effort to reduce extreme poverty in Natuna. The regional government continues mapping social conditions to ensure assistance is distributed accurately and delivers maximum benefits to beneficiaries.

In addition to supervising the distribution process, the Regent engaged in direct dialogue with several recipients to better understand their situations. Residents used the opportunity to convey their aspirations and hopes regarding development in Midai and Suak Midai.

The Regent’s working visit is expected to further strengthen collaboration between the regional government and the community in improving living standards and ensuring that social assistance programs run effectively, transparently, and equitably throughout Natuna Regency. (Prokopim/Patli)
