Natuna, September 24, 2025 — The Natuna Regency Government held a ceremony to mark the 23rd Anniversary of the Riau Islands Province at the Regent’s Office yard, Jalan Batu Sisir, Bukit Arai, Ranai, on Wednesday morning. Regent of Natuna, Cen Sui Lan, acted as Inspector of the Ceremony and delivered the official address on behalf of the Governor of the Riau Islands Province.
In his written remarks, the Governor highlighted that as the province enters its 23rd year, the dynamics of development have grown increasingly complex. Among the key challenges are economic conditions, particularly poverty alleviation, as well as the need to strengthen social harmony and maintain a conducive environment for sustainable development in line with public aspirations.
He emphasized that achieving targeted, impactful, and meaningful development programs requires collaboration and synergy across all stakeholders. Such synergy, he noted, must be reflected through collective care, ideas, constructive criticism, suggestions, and concrete action to drive progress and positive change for Negeri Segantang Lada (the Riau Islands).
The ceremony was attended by government officials including the Regional Secretary, assistants, heads of Regional Apparatus Organizations, and staff members.
On this occasion, the Governor also paid tribute to the pioneers of the province’s establishment, as well as to the initiators and implementers of development who have dedicated their determination and hard work in realizing a progressive, prosperous, and equitable Riau Islands.
He further expressed appreciation to cross-sector stakeholders who took part in the anniversary commemoration, stressing that the occasion should serve as a moment of reflection on the province’s sustainable development achievements. He recalled the wisdom of Gurindam Dua Belas, Verse 11: “Hendaklah berjasa kepada yang sebangsa” (“One must contribute to the nation”), underscoring that all elements of development must mobilize their resources and potential to bring honor to the region.
