Natuna, September 17, 2025 — The Natuna Regency Government convened a coordination meeting to finalize preparations for the inauguration of the Sekolah Rakyat Natuna (SRN), a community-based school initiative designed to expand access to quality education for children from low-income families.
The meeting, led by Regional Secretary Boy Wijanarko Varianto, brought together local officials, agency heads, and subdistrict representatives. Boy emphasized that SRN reflects the government’s strong commitment to improving regional education, even as teaching activities begin in a temporary facility at the Natuna Hajj Dormitory Complex in Ranai.
“SRN is not just a school; it is a national strategic program initiated by the President of Indonesia to ensure that every child, regardless of economic background, has the opportunity to receive a proper education,” Boy stated.
The inauguration of SRN’s temporary building is scheduled for September 22, 2025, to be launched simultaneously across Indonesia by the President via virtual conference. Ahead of the event, the Natuna administration has also lined up supporting activities, including free health checks for students (September 20), student dormitory check-ins (September 21), and school orientation (September 22).
