Natuna, September 17, 2025 — The Natuna Regency Government is finalizing preparations for the inauguration of the Natuna People’s School (Sekolah Rakyat Natuna/SRN), a new educational initiative aimed at providing access to quality education for children from underprivileged families.
The coordination meeting, chaired by Regional Secretary Boy Wijanarko Varianto, gathered local government leaders, education stakeholders, and district heads, with discussions centered on ensuring a smooth launch of the school’s temporary facility at the Natuna Hajj Dormitory Complex in Ranai.
Boy emphasized that SRN reflects the government’s strong commitment to improving regional education standards, noting that synergy across institutions is crucial in building public trust and positive momentum for the school.
“The establishment of SRN is part of a national strategic program initiated by the President of Indonesia, designed to give wider opportunities for children from poor families to receive proper education,” Boy said.
The inauguration of the temporary school building is scheduled for September 22, 2025, and will be launched simultaneously across Indonesia by the President via virtual ceremony.
Ahead of the inauguration, a series of community-focused activities will be held, including:
Free health checks for SRN students at Ranai Community Health Center (September 20, 2025)
Student dormitory move-in, accompanied by parents/guardians (September 21, 2025)
Orientation Week (MPLS) opening ceremony (September 22, 2025)
