The Regent of Natuna, Cen Sui Lan, officially handed over four ambulance units to four subdistricts within Natuna Regency. The symbolic handover ceremony took place in the courtyard of Bunguran Timur Laut Public Health Center (Puskesmas) on Tuesday afternoon, August 19.
The ambulances were funded through the Special Allocation Fund (DAK) in the health sector, aimed at enhancing healthcare service delivery in the region. The subdistricts receiving the ambulance units were Pulau Laut, Serasan Timur, Bunguran Selatan (Cemaga), and Bunguran Timur Laut.
In her remarks, Regent Cen Sui Lan stated that the provision of these new ambulances is part of the local government’s effort to ensure more equitable and accessible healthcare services for the community.
She emphasized that the ambulances are expected to serve as vital vehicles for accelerating emergency response, particularly in critical cases faced by residents.
The handover of these ambulances is also anticipated to ease patient referrals from public health centers to Natuna Regional General Hospital (RSUD), while expediting emergency medical handling in areas with limited transportation access.
Looking ahead, the Regent expressed hope that these ambulance units would contribute significantly to improving the quality of healthcare services in the region, alongside the fulfillment of healthcare personnel and other supporting facilities.
The event was attended by representatives from the Natuna Regency Health Office, the subdistrict heads and heads of recipient public health centers, as well as local community leaders (Pro_kopim/Patli)
