Limau Manis Village Awarded ‘Special’ Predicate in 2023 Anti-Corruption Village Programme Assessment

On Wednesday (4/10/2023) morning, the Regent of Natuna, Wan Siswandi, attended the Anti-Corruption Village Programme Assessment in Limau Manis Village by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) in Bunguran Timur District.

The Anti-Corruption Village Programme is a programme initiated by the KPK in collaboration with the Ministry of Home Affairs, the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Village Development of Disadvantaged Regions and Transmigration with the aim of jointly preventing acts of corruption starting from the village itself.

Community participation in the prevention and eradication of corruption is manifested in the form of, among others, seeking, obtaining, and providing data or information about corruption and the right to submit suggestions and opinions responsibly for the prevention and eradication of criminal acts.

The Anti-Corruption Village Assessment Team included KPK representative Nur Cahyadi, and representatives of the Inspectorate General of the Ministry of Villages, Ministry of Home Affairs, and Ministry of Finance.

Also present were Assistant I, the Regional Inspectorate inspector, the Head of DPMD office, the Acting Komimfo Office and Head of Law and Babinkamtibmas of Bunguran Timur Laut District.

The Regent of Natuna, Wan Siswandi, in his speech, welcomed the Anti-Corruption Village Programme, especially since Limau Manis Village, Bunguran Timur Laut Subdistrict, was chosen as one of the assessment object villages representing the Riau Islands Province.

Wan Siswandi felt grateful that Limau Manis Village was included in the Anti-Corruption Village nomination organised by the Indonesian Corruption Eradication Commission, which is a matter of pride for the Natuna Regional Government.

According to Wan Siswandi, until now the Regional Government has remained consistent in preventing corruption, starting from the village level to the Regional Government level.

Furthermore, it was explained that in the context of efforts to prevent corruption, the Natuna Regency Government had established an institution called the Village Clinic as a medium of communication and education for village officials, and had built cooperation with the Prosecutor's Office for assistance in regional financial management.

In the future, Wan Siswandi hopes that Limau Manis Village, with its achievements, can become a model for joint efforts to prevent corruption, especially in village financial management.

Furthermore, the KPK RI representative, Nur Cahyadi, said that the Anti-Corruption Village Programme is a long-term programme from the KPK which began in 2021.

In 2023, the Anti-Corruption Village Programme was followed by 22 villages throughout Indonesia, including Limau Manis Village, Bunguran Timur Laut Subdistrict as one of the selected villages for the implementation and assessment of the Anti-Corruption Village.

Nur Cahyadi explained, when the assessment score is above 90, the Village Head will be invited to attend the awarding ceremony on 28 November 2023 in East Kalimantan Province, precisely in the new capital city of Indonesia (IKN).

Furthermore, Nur Cahyadi said that from 2015 to 2022 the Indonesian Government has disbursed approximately 468 trillion in village funds.

In accordance with the Nawacita of the President of Indonesia related to the suppression of poverty by 8 to 9%, but the survey results from BPS poverty rate in accordance with the facts in the field of 12.36% / above the expected target.

Based on data on the handling of corruption cases from 2015 to 2022, there were 851 cases, with 973 suspects involving village officials.

For this reason, the data obtained is of particular concern and also indicates that corruption has penetrated to the level of Village Government which is the spearhead of the Government system.

At the end of his speech, Nur Cahyadi hoped that with the existence of the Anti-Corruption Village, the Village could preserve local wisdom that emphasises a culture of simplicity and care in the community.

Furthermore, the Anti-Corruption Village Assessment Team continued the question and answer session with the Village Government and community representatives in accordance with the 18 Indicators that have been fulfilled by Limau Manis Village.

After going through the stages of the Anti-Corruption Village Programme assessment process, the Assessment Team announced that Limau Manis Village received a score of 94 with a Special predicate.(Pro_kopim/Irles)
