Located at Sri Serindit Hall, Ranai, Regent of Natuna, Cen Sui Lan, officially inaugurated the Children’s Forum Board of Natuna Regency for the 2025–2027 period and opened the Capacity Building Activity for the Children’s Forum as part of the effort to prevent violence against children, on Wednesday morning (23/07).
In her remarks, Cen Sui Lan extended greetings for National Children’s Day and congratulated the newly appointed board members, encouraging them to carry out their duties with responsibility and integrity.
She emphasized that Natuna needs high-quality human resources, and to achieve this, children must fully enjoy their rights—such as access to proper education and opportunities to express themselves according to their interests and talents.
Cen Sui Lan also called on related Regional Government Organizations (OPDs) to stay focused on child protection efforts and ensure the fulfillment of children’s rights.
She further explained that, in line with directives from the President of the Republic of Indonesia, the regional government is preparing to launch “Sekolah Rakyat” (People’s School) and plans to build permanent educational facilities in the near future.
The Sekolah Rakyat program will cover three levels of education: Elementary School (SD), Junior High School (SMP), and Senior High School (SMA). While waiting for the school buildings to be completed, registered students will temporarily study at the Hajj Dormitory, located in the Natuna Gerbang Utaraku (NGU) Complex, Ranai.
Also present during the event were several Regional Secretariat assistants, OPD leaders, members of the Natuna Children’s Forum Board, and several school principals from Ranai, East Bunguran District. (Pro_kopim/D&S)
