Inaugurating Natuna Museum, The Regent of Natuna Hopes to Make it a Platform for the Preservation of Culture, History and Insight

The existence of a museum in a region in terms of its function has an important role, especially for efforts to maintain and protect regional cultural heritage that is material in nature. The material will contribute to information related to various fields, both history, education, cultural research and geopolitics.

With the construction of this museum facility, it is hoped that the management institution can make it an information media, attract visitors to attend and explore the information available to support the development of insight for the wider community.

This was conveyed by the Regent of Natuna, Wan Siswandi, when inaugurating the Natuna Regency Regional Museum, located in the Natuna Regency Museum Hall, Jalan Masjid Agung, Ranai, Thursday (27/07) morning.

Wan Siswandi also added that this museum belongs to the entire community of Natuna Regency in particular, for that he hopes that the responsible manager can socialise this to the community, so that concern grows to jointly maintain this facility as a shared asset that can be used as a vehicle for recreation, tourism and education.

Also attending the event were the Chairman and members of the Natuna Regency DPRD, members of the Forkopimda, several leaders of related Regional Apparatus Organisations, the Head of Bunguran Timur Sub-District, community leaders and local traditional leaders.

On the same occasion, the Head of the Natuna Regency Education Office, Indra Joni, reported that the inauguration of the operation of the Natuna Museum had previously experienced delays and could only be carried out today, due to obstacles in installing an electricity network with sufficient capacity.

Furthermore, it was reported that currently the services of the Natuna Museum are still far from optimal, given the various limitations that exist, such as the availability of human resources managers who are still in the process of being provided, as well as various supporting facilities that are still inadequate.

For this reason, Indra Joni hopes for support from the Regional Government in particular to be able to jointly realise the Natuna Museum as a means of protecting culture and a means of strengthening the identity and identity of the Natuna people. (Pro_kopim/Sri)
