Hearing on Disaster Management, the Regional Secretary of Natuna Urges All Communities and Related Institutions to Increase Vigilance.

Located in the Meeting Room of the Natuna Regent’s Office, the Regional Secretary of Natuna Regency, Boy Wijanarko Varianto led the Coordination Meeting for Hydrometeorology Disaster Management in Natuna Regency, Friday (17/01) morning.

Boy Wijanarko stated that the extreme weather conditions that occur in the Natuna Regency with high rainfall and strong winds of up to 30 knots, according to him, have the potential for Hydrometeorology disasters at several vulnerable points.

Boy hoped that through this meeting, he would help minimise the risk of disasters by formulating anticipatory and vigilance measures that can be taken to prevent disasters.

Boy Wijanarko also said that a few days ago a coordination meeting was held with related cross-sectoral institutions, and resulted in an agreement that all institutions will work together in preparedness to prevent and protect public safety.

At the end of his speech, Boy Wijanarko appealed to all communities in coastal areas and potentially affected by extreme weather to always be alert and be able to take independent preventive measures to prevent negative impacts in the event of a disaster.

Kalaksa BPBD Natuna Regency, Raja Darmika on his occasion said that based on the results of the review at several potential points, the BPBD in this case recommends that there is no need to establish a disaster emergency response status, but it is hoped that all parties and the community will continue to increase vigilance and disaster emergency response.

Raja Darmika also appealed to all related parties, up to the village government level, to continue to carry out socialisation, appeals and early warnings that are published, reaching all Natuna people, with the aim of increasing awareness to reduce the risk of disasters that might occur.

Attending this activity were several leaders of related Regional Apparatus Organisations, the District Heads, and several staff. (Pro_Kopim/Atra).
