Efforts to Eradicate Extreme Poverty, Natuna Regent Distributes Cash Assistance to 70 Beneficiaries

As part of her official visit to Serasan Island, Regent of Natuna Cen Sui Lan, along with her delegation, held a community gathering with residents of Serasan and East Serasan Districts, which was accompanied by the distribution of Direct Cash Assistance (BLT) to 70 households on Monday morning (June 16).

In her remarks, Cen Sui Lan stated that the central government, through President of Indonesia’s Asta Cita program, continues to push for equitable development in border areas—one of the priorities being the reduction of extreme poverty rates.

The 70 BLT recipients, as recorded by the Natuna District Social Affairs Office, each received IDR 1.2 million in cash assistance for the January–June 2025 period.

Cen Sui Lan added that the amount of BLT provided is adjusted to the region’s financial capabilities. She expressed hope that the assistance would be used wisely to help meet the daily needs of the beneficiaries.

She also announced that the local government will soon distribute additional BLT to senior citizens (aged 65 and above), emphasizing that this support reflects the local government’s concern for social welfare. (Pro_kopim/Patli)
