Commemoration of National Teachers’ Day 2025

The National Teachers’ Day 2025 Ceremony was held at Piwang Beach Square, East Bunguran District, on Tuesday morning (25/11). The Regent of Natuna, represented by Regional Secretary Boy Wijanarko, served as the Inspector of the Ceremony.

The event was attended by members of the regional legislature, the regional leadership coordination forum (Forkopimda), related government agencies, the Chairperson of PGRI, subdistrict and village officials, principals from across Bunguran Besar District, and ceremony participants.

In a written address delivered by the Regional Secretary, the Minister of Primary and Secondary Education of the Republic of Indonesia, Abdul Mu’ti, highlighted key points regarding primary and secondary education under the theme “Great Teachers, Strong Indonesia.” The Minister emphasized that the nation’s strength cannot be achieved without great teachers—educators who teach with sincerity, adapt to technological changes, and continually innovate to create an inspiring learning environment.

He further conveyed that the central government is finalizing a strategic policy on teacher management centralization. This includes equalizing teacher welfare, ensuring timely distribution of allowances, redistributing teachers based on national needs, and resolving the employment status of honorary teachers to secure their future. This policy is expected to provide a structural solution to challenges faced by teachers across Indonesia.

During the ceremony, four priority programs of the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education for 2025 were also presented:

Extending compulsory education to 13 years

Improving the quality of local education

Strengthening literacy and character through the distribution of 1.5 million quality reading books

Advancing digital learning through the use of smartboards and digital learning platforms

The Minister reminded that teachers are not asked to work harder, but to work smarter and more meaningfully. Teachers are encouraged to continue educating with compassion and unwavering dedication to build a strong, well-characterized generation for Indonesia’s future. Pro-Kopim (D&S)
