Commemorating the Birth of Prophet Muhammad SAW 1447 H / 2025 M, Natuna Deputy Regent Calls for Religious Institutions and Houses of Worship to Serve as Centers of Community Guidance

The commemoration of the birth of Prophet Muhammad SAW holds profound significance for Muslims worldwide in the history of Islam.

This occasion, Deputy Regent of Natuna Jarmin, SE emphasized, should not merely be regarded as a ceremonial event, but as a call for the faithful to emulate the noble character and values taught by the Prophet—whether in relations within society, with fellow human beings, or in harmony with nature.

Speaking at the commemoration of Maulid Nabi SAW 1447 H held at Baitul Izza Grand Mosque, Ranai, on Thursday evening (September 4), Jarmin underscored that the Prophet’s birth should inspire Muslims to reflect on his exemplary morals, struggles, and life principles, and to put them into practice in daily life.

The event was attended by members of the Riau Islands Provincial DPRD, representatives of Forkopimda, the Chairperson and members of the Natuna DPRD, the Regional Secretary, assistants, heads of regional government offices, vertical institutions, subdistrict heads, village heads, as well as religious, community, and traditional leaders, along with the congregation of Baitul Izza Mosque.

Jarmin extended his appreciation to Ustad Abdul Rasyid, who delivered a tausiyah (religious lecture), offering enlightenment, guidance, and motivation to rekindle the community’s love and devotion to the Prophet Muhammad SAW.

In his remarks, the Deputy Regent also urged all relevant institutions to collaborate in formulating policies that reinforce Islamic values across both formal and non-formal settings.

He further encouraged mosque and surau administrators to continue strengthening their role as centers for spiritual and social development—providing religious education and guidance for children, youth, and adults alike.

“This effort is essential to ensure that the young generation of Natuna grows not only intellectually capable, but also morally upright, with strong faith and piety as the foundation of their character,” Jarmin concluded. (Pro_Kopim / D&S)
