Bupati Natuna Inspects Flooded Area in Sebadai Hulu, Pushes for River Revitalization

On Tuesday morning (02/12), Natuna Regent Cen Sui Lan handed over a tractor to help improve agricultural productivity in Tapau Village, Bunguran Tengah District. The equipment, provided through a Bank Indonesia program, is intended to strengthen agricultural mechanization in the Natuna region.

Speaking in front of the gathered farmer groups, Cen Sui Lan said that the tractor is expected to speed up land preparation and increase work efficiency for local farmers.

During an open dialogue, she emphasized her commitment to developing Bunguran Tengah as a leading agricultural zone. The area, she noted, has naturally fertile land and a community where farming is already a major livelihood.

To achieve this goal, she highlighted the need for collaboration among farmers, the local government, and various institutions—including Bank Indonesia as one of the supporters. Beyond strengthening food security, she added, this effort will also bring economic benefits and improve the welfare of local farmers.

Aligned with the vision and mission of the regional government, Cen Sui Lan expressed hope that the availability of this farming equipment will help farmers stay focused—especially in developing high-demand agricultural commodities needed by the market and the community.

She also explained that the supply of vegetables for the MBG (Free Nutritious Meals) program across Bunguran Island is still largely sourced from outside the region. This, she said, presents a valuable opportunity for local farmers—not only to support the program but potentially to become the main suppliers in the future.

At the end of the event, the Regent reaffirmed the local government’s continued support for farmers, both in infrastructure and capacity-building. Cen Sui Lan remains optimistic that Bunguran Tengah can grow into Natuna’s new agricultural powerhouse. (Pro_kopim/Patli)
