As part of the 2025 National Scout Day commemoration, the Scout Movement of the Natuna Branch (Kwartir Cabang Natuna), in collaboration with the Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) Natuna Chapter and Natuna Regional General Hospital (RSUD), organized a blood donation activity on Wednesday morning (6/08), centered in the main lobby of the Natuna Regent’s Office on Jalan Batu Sisir, Bukit Arai, East Bunguran District.
The Regent of Natuna, Cen Sui Lan, had the opportunity to personally observe the blood donation activity, which drew participation from local government officials working in the Bukit Arai office complex, as well as adult and youth members of the Scout Movement. Their presence signified strong support for efforts to meet the local community’s blood supply needs for medical care.
Also in attendance were the Regional Secretary, assistants to the Regent, heads of regional government agencies (OPDs), and members of the Kwarcab Natuna leadership council.
During the visit, Regent Cen Sui Lan expressed her sincere appreciation to the Kwarcab Natuna leadership, PMI officials, and all stakeholders involved in the event, particularly the voluntary blood donors who contributed to the success of this meaningful social initiative.
She emphasized that the values of social concern and mutual cooperation promoted through the Scout Movement should serve as an example for other organizations and institutions. Such efforts, she stated, reflect true community service and are in line with the spirit and values of Indonesian scouting.
Cen Sui Lan also expressed her hope that similar activities will be held regularly—not only by the Scout Movement but also by various civil society organizations, youth groups, and even military and police units. Given the relatively high demand for blood in support of health services across Natuna, such contributions are vital.
In line with efforts to address this demand, the Regent revealed that she has coordinated with PMI officials at the provincial level to propose the procurement of improved blood storage and management facilities, which would allow for greater blood reserves to be maintained.
Furthermore, she continues to encourage the Natuna PMI chapter to engage communities down to the village and subdistrict level to participate in blood donation, stressing that beyond the direct health benefits to donors, the activity embodies the values of solidarity and humanity.
This event also served as a key moment to strengthen synergy between the local government, the Scout Movement, and PMI in fostering a generation of youth who are active, socially conscious, and committed to humanitarian values. (Pro_kopim/Patli)
