Building Trust Among Muslim Consumers, Boy Wijanarko Hands Over 120 Halal Certificates to Natuna Culinary Businesses

As a form of consumer protection, particularly for Muslim communities, the ownership of Halal Certificates by culinary business operators has become a key focus and an essential requirement, reflecting strong synergy between the government and the business sector.

However, a Halal Certificate is not merely a symbolic business license. More importantly, it serves as an assurance that production processes and ingredients comply fully with Islamic (Sharia) standards.

This was conveyed by the Regional Secretary of Natuna Regency, Boy Wijanarko Varianto, in his remarks at the Halal Certificate Handover Ceremony for Business Operators in Natuna Regency, held at the Danantara Office of Natuna Regency (behind the Telkom Office), Jalan Datuk Kaya Wan Mohamad Benteng, Ranai, Bunguran Timur Subdistrict, on Monday morning (19/01).

Boy Wijanarko added that possession of Halal certification enables business operators to build stronger consumer trust in purchasing and consuming halal products. It also opens broader opportunities to engage within the halal ecosystem, not only at the regional level in Natuna but also nationally.

He further expressed hope that Halal certification would encourage business owners to improve UMKM productivity, strengthening their role as a driving force of the local economy.

On the same occasion, Chairman of the Mathlaul Anwar Halal Center, Arizki Fil Bahri, explained that the development of a halal ecosystem represents an initial step toward strengthening consumer assurance for halal culinary businesses in Natuna Regency.

Going forward, recipients of Halal Certificates will receive group-based business development training facilitated by Rumah BUMN, along with access to business assistance programs for UMKM.

The event was attended by several regional officials, including the Chairperson of the Natuna Regency DPRD, members of the Regional Leadership Coordination Forum (Forkopimda), heads of related regional government agencies (OPD), and business operators. During the event, 120 Halal Certificates were officially handed over to culinary business operators across Natuna Regency. (Pro_kopim/D&S)
