Held in Sededap Village, Pulau Tiga District, Regent of Natuna Cen Sui Lan, along with the Vice Regent Jarmin Sidik and their entourage, attended the Opening Ceremony of Muhibah Ramadhan 1446 Hijriyah on Tuesday evening (04/03).
The Muhibah Ramadhan tradition has been passed down through generations by the communities of Pulau Tiga and West Pulau Tiga Districts.
This 12-day event serves as a moment for mutual visits between mosques in both districts, featuring a series of religious activities, including Sahur (pre-dawn meal), obligatory prayers, communal iftar (breaking the fast), Tarawih prayers, and Qur’an recitation (Tadarus).
The activities, centered at Ath-Thoriq Mosque, began with a communal iftar, followed by Maghrib and Isha prayers in congregation. After the Tarawih prayers, the event continued with religious sermons and collective prayers.
In her speech, Cen Sui Lan expressed her gratitude for the opportunity to gather with all the Muhibah Ramadhan participants in this inaugural event.
She emphasized that this tradition must be preserved, as it brings positive impacts—not only strengthening faith but also reinforcing ukhuwah Islamiyah (Islamic brotherhood) among the communities of both districts.
She also highlighted the importance of passing down this religious tradition, utilizing the momentum of Ramadhan to inspire future generations. Furthermore, she encouraged other districts to adopt similar initiatives.
On the same occasion, Pulau Tiga District Head, Wan Efendi, reported that this year’s Muhibah Ramadhan event involved 12 mosque delegations (kafilah) from villages across Pulau Tiga and West Pulau Tiga Districts. The program is set to conclude on the 13th day of Ramadhan in Tanjung Kumbik Village, West Pulau Tiga District.
Among the attendees were Deputy Regent of Natuna, Regional Secretary of Natuna, members of the Riau Islands Provincial DPRD, Deputy Chairman I of Natuna DPRD, heads of regional government agencies (OPD), sub-district heads, village heads, and the 12 mosque delegations participating in the event.
