Attending Binjai Village’s Dendang Piwang Cultural Gawai, the Vice Regent of Natuna Hopes All Parties Support Efforts to Preserve Malay Cultural Traditions

The Vice Regent of Natuna Rodhial Huda attended the Dendang Piwang Cultural Gawai event held by the Natuna Regency Education and Culture Office, at the Sanggar Tepak Sirih yard in Binjai Village, Bunguran Barat District, Saturday (10/6) night.

Present at the event were several leaders of Regional Apparatus Organisations, the Chairman of LAM Natuna, the Head of Bunguran Barat Sub-District, the Village Head and BPD, community and religious leaders and the people of Binjai Village.

In his remarks, Rodhial Huda said that every party, especially the government, culturists and every individual has the same responsibility to maintain and preserve culture, as a self-identity.

It is not impossible, through efforts to maintain and preserve and introduce the culture that is owned, will be known in the eyes of the world, moreover the current advances in information and communication technology allow it to be realised.

Rodhial Huda added that activities like this should be designed as an educational medium for children, especially for introducing their own culture, so that in the future they are able to behave, know and have manners and behaviour as Malay people in their daily relationships.

On the same occasion Acting Head of the Natuna Regency Education and Culture Office. Head of the Natuna Regency Education and Culture Office, Said Muhammad Fadly reported that in 2023 this programme/activity will be carried out again, after the previous year the cultural title was also held at Piwang Beach.

Fadly explained that this programme was deliberately held at the village level, with the intention of building collaboration with the Village Government, so that the elements of introduction, education, exploring local cultural values and preservation efforts can be held more optimally.

In the future, this cultural art performance will be held at the village level in turn, with the intention of building friendship, both with elements of the village government and the local community.

Furthermore, the Head of Binjai Village, Said Muhammad Rasyid, warmly welcomed this cultural arts performance activity, which was held in Binjai Village, the activities of the existing art studios had the opportunity to show the results of the artistic creativity that had been carried out so far.

In this Cultural Arts Stage, Sanggar Tepak Sirih of Binjai Village had the opportunity to perform several dances that were presented to all visitors. In addition, a gasing game was also held which was attended by several gasing groups from several local villages.

The Vice Regent of Natuna also had the opportunity to hand over assistance in the form of dance costumes to Sanggar Tepak Sirih Desa Binjai.
