The Regent of Natuna, represented by the General Administration Assistant, Tasrif, officially opened the Taruna Siaga Bencana (TAGANA) Training, held at the Trend Central Hotel Hall, Jalan Pramuka, Ranai, Monday (20/11) morning.
In his speech, Tasrif said that Tagana aims to increase community participation in disaster management, both before, during, and after a disaster.
Therefore, the existence of a skilled and responsive Tagana community is needed, especially for the people of Natuna Regency with the geography of the Riau Islands, and far from the main areas that have personnel and disaster management facilities such as the Regency Capital.
In the future, by organizing various activities aimed at increasing awareness and skills, Tasrif believes that the Tagana members of the Natuna Regency can be more prepared and alert in responding to various forms of disasters that may occur.
Through this activity, they will be given briefings on how to handle the conditions of disaster events, supervise control, coordinate and take appropriate action to prevent casualties.
On the same occasion, the Head of the Social Service, Puryanti, said that this activity was part of the strategy to increase the Potential and Sources of Social Welfare (PSKS), as well as momentum for friendship between fellow Tagana members and the Natuna Regency Government.
Given that since the formation of Tagana members, this is the first time training activities have been held, it is planned that next year this activity will be held again, in the form of a Disaster Preparedness Village program.
The activity took place for 3 days, (20 to 23 November 2023), at the Trend Central Hotel and Tanjung Beach, Bunguran Timur Laut District.
The participants who participated in the training were 17 people who had taken basic education and had Tagana Member Identification Numbers (NIAT) which were spread across several sub-districts.
