The Regent of Natuna Opens FGD 2 on the Preparation of Master Plan Document and Road Map for Advancement of Science and Technology of Natuna Regency

The Regent of Natuna, Wan Siswandi, attended the FGD 2 of the preparation of the Natuna Regency Science and Technology Advancement Master Plan Document and Road Map, held in the Meeting Room of the Natuna Regent's Office, 2nd floor Jl. Batu Sisir Bukit Arai, Ranai, Wednesday, (15/11) morning.

Attended the event were all the heads/representatives of Regional Apparatus Organisations (OPD), and sub-district heads throughout Natuna Regency, either in person or online.

In his speech, Wan Siswandi said the local government really appreciated the presence of the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN), with hopes that regional development programs could be planned more focused and targeted, although he admitted that the current planning was quite good.

Wan Siswandi also explained that currently regional development is always focused on the needs of the community, aligned with the times, carried out in various sectors such as the tourism, fisheries, environment, and basic infrastructure sectors.

With the presence of BRIN in the discussion of the development plan process in the future, it can boost the economy of the community and the region, through revamping the leading sectors and more adequate basic infrastructure.

On the same occasion, one of BRIN's resource persons, Suhandoyo, Directorate of Regional Research and Innovation Policy, said that his party would recapitulate data from regional planning documents and then conduct evaluations to solve regional development problems.

Suhandoyo also explained that BRIN is a combination of 5 institutions, namely the Ministry of Research and Innovation, BPPT, BATAN, LAPAN, and LIPI, which are intended to conduct research and development, both at the regional level and at all ministerial institutions.

The role of BRIN is to improve regional competitiveness, efficiency, and effectiveness of regional government administration, improve the quality of government administration programmes,

To give consideration for policy formulation in co-operation with stakeholders, to innovate to improve local government performance, to coordinate, verify, and evaluate.

Finally, BRIN will also be a medium for the initiation, innovation, and implementation of policies for coordination and synchronization of R&D control in a comprehensive and sustainable manner in every program and government institution in particular. (Pro_kopim/endang)
