Restorative Justice (RJ) is one of the legal settlement policies that is sought outside the judicial process, where the litigants are expected to settle peacefully either with certain categories, requirements or agreements.
The implementation of this RJ pathway settlement has saved many people from litigating the law and resolved peacefully. Of course, the application of RJ is also a very humane solution, although it cannot also be applied to all cases that occur.
This was conveyed by the Regent of Natuna, Wan Siswandi in his speech when attending the Coffee Morning with the Natuna District Attorney's Office, held in the Natuna District Attorney's Office Hall, Ranai, Friday (11/08) morning.
Wan Siswandi highly appreciates the Natuna District Attorney's Office which in resolving legal issues that occur in Natuna Regency seeks to emphasize the application of RJ as a priority solution to the community.
This is considered very meaningful as well as an effort to educate the public to increase legal awareness in the community, as well as support in the implementation of regional development.
On the same occasion, the Head of the Natuna District Attorney's Office, Suryadi Sembiring, in his remarks said that normatively, national legal politics defines restorative justice as the resolution of criminal cases by involving perpetrators, victims, families of the perpetrator/victim, and other related parties to jointly seek a fair settlement by emphasizing restoration to the original state.
In other words, restorative justice is a legal solution that emphasizes out-of-court settlement rather than court settlement.
Surayadi explained, although the application of pure restorative justice should be applied outside the criminal justice system, it can also be applied in the context of the criminal justice system at all stages, both from pre-adjudication to the post-adjudication stage.
He hopes that the application of Restorative Justice can be a legal solution that can continue to be applied in various conditions, in order to support a regional development climate that remains conducive.
Also attending the event were the Vice Regent of Natuna, Regional Secretary, Forkopimda, Chairman of MUI, Chairman of LAM and community leaders. (Pro_kopim/Irles).
