Receiving Donations for Serasan Landslide, the Regent of Natuna: All Donations Will Be Transparently Managed.

Following the floods and landslides that occurred on Serasan Island some time ago, a number of parties built a Joint Command Post to collect donations for humanitarian care.

There are several organisations in the Natuna Regency working area that are members of the Joint Command Post for Serasan Island Landslide Disaster Care, including KNPI, PMI, a joint team from Karang Taruna, Geopark, HPMI and HMII Natuna.

Held in the Meeting Room of the Natuna Regent's Office, Batu Sisir St. Bukit Arai, Ranai, the Natuna Regent welcomed the representatives of the Flood and Landslide Disaster Command Post of Serasan Island in the agenda of Donation Assistance that was successfully collected from a number of sources.

The Regent of Natuna, Wan Siswandi, at that time felt very grateful for the initiative and concern shown, thus a number of funds could be collected, as well as various other forms of assistance that would be intended to ease the burden on the community, both victims and affected by the disaster.

According to Wan Siswandi, all donations in the form of incoming budgets will be managed transparently, listed and will be reported in detail to the public regarding their distribution and utilisation.

Wan Siswandi explained that currently it is still in the emergency response period until 31 March 2023. Furthermore, it will enter the post-disaster stage. This week the local government will focus on budget reporting and other forms of donation which will be managed in one door.

Efforts to record, distribute and utilise the budget will be carried out transparently and will be used as much as possible for the victims and affected communities of floods and landslides on Serasan Island.

Furthermore, the Chairman of the Natuna Regency KNPI, Haryadi, said that so far the Joint Command Post for Serasan Island Disaster Care had received two forms of donations, namely in the form of money and goods.

For assistance in the form of goods has been handed over to the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD), some assistance was handed over directly to the Post in Serasan.

As for the monetary donations collected so far totalling Rp. 340,763,000, the budget has been used for operational and urgent needs of refugees as directed by BPBD. While the cash that will be handed over today is IDR 267,298,125.
