[10.20, 16/3/2023] Lita Prokopim: On the Fifth Day of the Serasan Landslide Catastrophe, the Evacuation Team Continues to Find Victims and Remedy the Situation.
Friday (10/3) morning, the evacuation team of landslide victims on Serasan Island was continuously searching for victims trapped under the landslide material.
The Head of the Prokopim Division of the Secretariat of Natuna Regency, Defrizal, stated that all personnel in the evacuation team was divided into four teams, placing them in different locations.
The four excavators were utilised for two different functions: two excavators to open the access road and two excavators to dig and flatten the area looking for victims.
More than 100 personnel consisted of Basarnas, Firefighters, Army, Navy, Air Force, Police were mobilised to evacuate victims and recover the situation at the disaster site.
According to the field report, the condition in Serasan Island and its surroundings was cloudy to overcast, with the soil wet and muddy as the previous night, rain was light to moderate.
Last night, four units of excavators arrived in Serasan from Ranai, increasing the number of heavy equipment available to support the evacuation team up to seven units.
