The Natuna Regency Government has officially granted 4,805 square metres of land to the Ministry of Transportation of the Republic of Indonesia through the Class II Tarempa Port Authority Office (UPP). The land will be used for the development of Pulau Seluan Seaport facilities in Pulau Seluan District, Natuna Regency.
This land grant shows the local government’s support for speeding up port infrastructure development in the region. It also strengthens cooperation between the local and central governments to improve sea transportation links.
The matter was shared by Natuna Regent Cen Sui Lan, accompanied by the Head of the Transportation Office and the Head of the Regional Financial and Revenue Management Agency (BPKPD) of Natuna Regency. They attended the signing of the handover document for the regional government-owned land grant for Pulau Seluan Seaport development. The event took place at the Natuna Regent’s Office on Wednesday morning (4 November).
Cen Sui Lan said that with the land now officially handed over, land availability is expected to no longer be an obstacle to the planning and construction of Pulau Seluan Seaport.
She explained that land availability is an important part of infrastructure development. For this reason, the Natuna Regency Government remains committed to supporting development programmes carried out by the central government in Natuna.
The development of Pulau Seluan Seaport is expected to improve sea transportation access and connections. It is also expected to support people’s daily travel and help grow the local economy, especially for the people of Pulau Seluan.
Going forward, the local government will continue to strengthen coordination and cooperation with the central government to support more equal infrastructure development, especially in island and border areas. (Pro_Kopimnatuna/S)
