Natuna Regent Visits Batu Hitam to Ensure Subsidized Fertilizer Reaches Eligible Farmers

The Natuna Regency Government remains committed to advancing the agricultural sector through a range of initiatives, including improving farming infrastructure, promoting agricultural technology, strengthening extension services, and expanding market access for local agricultural products.

The distribution of subsidized fertilizer is one of the government’s concrete efforts to help farmers reduce production costs and support sustainable agricultural development.

Natuna Regent Cen Sui Lan made these remarks while attending the 2026 subsidized fertilizer inspection and distribution event on Hasanuddin Street, Batu Hitam Village, on Monday (July 13).

During the event, the Regent stressed that subsidized fertilizer must be distributed accurately and transparently, ensuring the right recipients receive the right type, quantity, quality, price, and delivery time in accordance with government regulations. She also called on agricultural extension officers, distributors, retailers, and farmer groups to work closely together to oversee the distribution process so that the fertilizer reaches eligible farmers based on the official beneficiary data.

The initiative reflects the Natuna Regency Government’s commitment to strengthening regional food security while ensuring farmers have access to sufficient and affordable fertilizer amid the challenges currently facing the agricultural sector.

The event was attended by representatives from regional government agencies, the Head of BPJS Ketenagakerjaan Natuna, the Head of Intelligence at the Natuna District Prosecutor’s Office, the Head of the Food Crops and Horticulture Division, the Coordinator of the Ministry of Agriculture’s Agricultural Extension Team in Natuna, and agricultural extension officers from across the regency.

On the same occasion, Head of the Natuna Food Security and Agriculture Office, Wan Sazali, explained that this phase of subsidized fertilizer distribution is prioritized for farmers in several districts, including Central Bunguran, East Bunguran, Northeast Bunguran, Batubi, South Bunguran, North Bunguran, as well as Serasan and East Serasan.

A total of 188.53 tons of subsidized fertilizer will be distributed, consisting of 30.95 tons of urea,*93.35 tons of NPK fertilizer, and 39.56 tons of organic fertilizer.

The Natuna Regency Government also reminded all farmer groups and beneficiaries that subsidized fertilizer is a regulated commodity under government supervision. Recipients are strictly prohibited from reselling or using the fertilizer for unauthorized commercial purposes, and any misuse will be subject to the applicable regulations. (Pro-Kopim (D)
