Assistant I of the Natuna Regency Regional Secretariat Attends the 4th IBI Branch Conference of Natuna Regency (2023–2028)

Representing the Regent of Natuna, Assistant I of the Natuna Regency Regional Secretariat, Khaidir, SE, attended the 4th Branch Conference (Muscab IV) and the inauguration of the Indonesian Midwives Association (IBI) Branch Management of Natuna Regency for the 2023–2028 period. The event was held at the BMKG Station Multipurpose Hall, Jalan Hj. Agus Salim–Puak, Ranai, Bunguran Timur Subdistrict, on Saturday morning (17/01).

Also present at the event were the Chairperson of the Natuna Regency DPRD, the Commander of the Naval Combat Task Group of Fleet Command I, several heads of related regional government agencies (OPD), the chairperson and board members of the IBI Natuna Regency branch, leaders of vertical institutions, representatives of state-owned and regional-owned enterprises (BUMN and BUMD), banking institutions, subdistrict heads, village heads across Natuna Regency, community leaders, as well as representatives of women’s organizations and professional associations.

On this occasion, Khaidir conveyed his appreciation and recognition to all members and administrators of the IBI Natuna Regency branch for their dedication, service, and contributions in supporting regional development, particularly in the health service sector.

Through the implementation of the 4th IBI Branch Conference, it is expected to serve as a forum for organizational evaluation and consolidation, generating ideas, programs, and innovative steps that further strengthen the role of midwives in responding to increasingly complex healthcare challenges.

Khaidir added that the regional government fully recognizes the midwifery profession as a strategic partner in achieving better public health outcomes in the future. Therefore, he expressed hope that the strong partnership between IBI and the regional government will continue to be maintained, ensuring that public health services can run optimally, equitably, and sustainably.

At the same event, the Chair of the Organizing Committee, Ika Amelia, reported that the IBI Branch Conference was conducted as a mandate of the organization, as stipulated in the Articles of Association and Bylaws of the Indonesian Midwives Association. The conference serves as the highest decision-making forum at the branch level to evaluate organizational leadership.

The 4th IBI Branch Conference of Natuna Regency carried the theme:
“Uniting Steps in Health Transformation to Strengthen Sustainable, Evidence-Based Midwifery Services, Reflecting the Commitment of Midwives to Continuously Adapt, Innovate, and Synergize in Supporting National Health Transformation, Particularly in Sustainable Evidence-Based Midwifery Services.”

Ika Amelia also reported that the IBI Natuna Regency branch currently has 278 members spread across branch and sub-branch levels, all of whom were actively involved in the conference activities.

The conference was held over two days, featuring a series of plenary sessions, the election of the Chairperson of the IBI Natuna Regency branch, a fellowship evening to strengthen solidarity among members, and concluding with the handover of duties and the inauguration of the newly elected branch management.
