On Monday afternoon (24/11), Natuna Regent Cen Sui Lan carried out a series of working visits to Midai and Suak Midai Districts as part of the regional government’s routine agenda. The visit aimed not only to strengthen ties with local communities but also to ensure that development programs and public services are distributed evenly across the outermost areas of Natuna Regency.
The program began with a friendly gathering between the Regent, her delegation, and local residents at the Midai District Multipurpose Hall. The meeting took place in a warm atmosphere, marked by the enthusiasm of residents who used the opportunity to voice their aspirations, suggestions, and hopes regarding development in their area.
In her address, Regent Cen Sui Lan emphasized that working visits to regions outside Bunguran Besar Island reflect the government’s commitment to building both structural and emotional closeness with the community. The direct presence of the government among the people is expected to strengthen public trust while providing space for constructive dialogue.
As part of the visit, the Regent symbolically handed over various forms of assistance to residents of Midai and Suak Midai Districts. These included 140 packages of rice, symbolic handover of BPJS Employment membership, social assistance, and portable fire extinguishers intended to enhance community preparedness in preventing fire risks.
The provision of this assistance is not only a response to the community’s basic needs but also part of the government’s strategy to strengthen the social safety net. Through these support measures, the regional government strives to ensure that residents in island areas continue to receive adequate support amid economic and social challenges.
Regent Cen Sui Lan reaffirmed that equitable development remains a key principle in formulating regional policies. She stressed that development should not be concentrated in one area alone but must reach all districts outside the administrative center. In this way, every resident of Natuna can benefit proportionally from the progress being achieved.
The visit also served as an important moment for the Regent to directly inspect infrastructure conditions and public services in Midai and Suak Midai. Through on-site observation, the government is better positioned to identify priority needs and design more targeted policies.
At the conclusion of the activities, the Regent expressed hope that the visit would strengthen the synergy between the government and the community in building a more advanced and inclusive Natuna. She reaffirmed the regional government’s commitment to ensuring sustainable and equitable development so that all areas of Natuna can move forward optimally and fairly.
Attending the event were the Deputy Regent of Natuna, members of the Natuna Regency DPRD, heads of regional government agencies, the Head of BPJS Natuna, the Head of Bulog, the Head of Bank Riau Natuna, subdistrict leaders, community figures, and local residents. (Prokopim/Patli)
