Ranai, September 30, 2025 — One of the manifestations of the state’s presence for its people is the provision of employment social security, which serves as an insurance-based protection program for workers, self-employed individuals, and their families.
Such protection not only provides a sense of security against various occupational risks but also ensures the continuity of life for workers’ families in the future.
This was conveyed by the Regional Secretary of Natuna Regency, Boy Wijanarko Varianto, when officially opening the Focus Group Discussion (FGD) on the Implementation of Employment Social Security in Natuna Regency, held at the Natuna Regent’s Office meeting room, Jalan Batu Sisir, Bukit Arai, Ranai, on Tuesday afternoon (September 30).
The event was attended by the Head of BPJS Employment Tanjungpinang Branch, Iwan Kurniawan; Head of BPJS Employment Natuna Regency, Hendra Harry Jona; and several heads of Regional Apparatus Organizations within the Natuna Regency Government.
During the discussion, Head of BPJS Employment Natuna, Hendra Harijona, explained that the agency will continue to expand its membership coverage while improving public understanding of the program’s benefits.
He further stated that BPJS Employment provides comprehensive protection for workers, covering work accident insurance, death benefits, old-age benefits, and pension benefits.
Hendra expressed hope that, with the support of the regional government, all workers in Natuna can be registered and fully benefit from the protection programs mentioned.
As a form of joint commitment, the FGD concluded with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Government of Natuna Regency and BPJS Employment.
This MoU is expected to strengthen synergy in optimizing the implementation of employment social security to ensure equitable protection for all workers in Natuna Regency.(Prokopim/D&S)
