Natuna Regent Urges Public Vigilance Amid Extreme Weather Conditions

Natuna, September 2025 — As northern monsoon season intensifies, bringing heavy rainfall and strong winds across the Natuna Regency, Regent Cen Sui Lan has issued a public call for heightened caution to ensure community safety.

Cen urged residents to prioritize safety in daily activities, warning that persistent rains and high winds could pose risks to both health and public safety. She stressed that fishermen should exercise extra caution, closely monitoring weather and wave conditions before setting out to sea.

The Regent also emphasized the importance of heeding early warnings from the Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) and following guidance from local authorities as part of broader disaster risk mitigation efforts.

“The safety of our people must come first. We must all remain alert and responsive to changing conditions,” Cen said. (Prokopim)
