In commemoration of the 80th Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia, the Regent of Natuna, Cen Sui Lan, led the “Clean Natuna Movement” on Thursday morning (8/8). The activity was conducted simultaneously across various strategic locations throughout Natuna Regency and involved thousands of participants from diverse segments of society.
Participants included representatives from local government institutions, students, community organizations, as well as personnel from the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) and the National Police (Polri), all working hand in hand to clean public facilities, school environments, places of worship, and coastal tourism areas.
Several key areas targeted during the community service included Batu Kapal settlement, the Grand Mosque area, New Market, Old Market, and Piwang Beach.
In her remarks, Regent Cen Sui Lan emphasized that the Clean Natuna Movement is not merely a ceremonial event held in the lead-up to Independence Day, but a true manifestation of the spirit of mutual cooperation and love for the homeland.
“Cleanliness is part of our civilization. By keeping our environment clean, we uphold the dignity of our nation. The spirit of independence should be reflected in our daily actions, including how we care for our surroundings,” she stated.
This initiative also served as a momentum to foster collective awareness among the public about the importance of maintaining a clean and healthy lifestyle. Furthermore, as a border region, Natuna plays a vital role in representing the face of Indonesia in a geopolitically strategic area. (Prokopim/Patli)
