On the 24th day of Ramadan, Deputy Regent of Natuna, Jarmin, SE, accompanied by the Chairperson of the Natuna Regency Family Welfare Empowerment (TP PKK), attended a gathering and iftar event organized by the Indonesian Wredatama Association (PWRI) Natuna Chapter, held at Basisir Restaurant on Monday evening (24/03).
Also present at the event were a member of the Riau Islands Provincial Parliament (DPRD Kepri), Special Staff to the Regent of Natuna, the Chairperson of PWRI Natuna, community and religious leaders, as well as members of PWRI Natuna Regency.
The event began with a religious sermon and joint prayer before breaking the fast, followed by iftar and maghrib prayer in congregation.
In his remarks, the Deputy Regent expressed his appreciation to all retirees who had dedicated themselves to the development of Natuna Regency over the years. He emphasized that the progress Natuna has achieved today is the result of the hard work and contributions made by these retirees during their time of service.
He also hoped that Wredatama members would continue to offer guidance and constructive advice to the local government so that Natuna’s development efforts can improve and grow stronger year after year.
Regarding the proposed land allocation for the construction of the PWRI Natuna Secretariat, the Deputy Regent stated that the request is currently under review for land grant processing. The proposed location is near the Great Mosque of Natuna, adjacent to the planned LAM (Lembaga Adat Melayu) building, which is scheduled to begin construction in the near future.
In his report, PWRI Natuna Chairperson Kamarudin stated that in the short term, the organization is working to gather data on all retirees who have not yet joined PWRI. The aim is to compile a complete database and implement regular programs to enhance retirees’ productivity and strengthen their bonds through regular gatherings.
Regarding the Secretariat building proposal, PWRI has coordinated with the provincial government, which has expressed readiness to fund the construction, provided that the land acquisition or grant is secured by the Natuna Regency Government. (Prokopim/Patli)
