Audience with Healthcare Workers: Regent of Natuna Committed to Fighting for ASN Rights

Healthcare workers in Natuna Regency held a peaceful protest in front of the Natuna Regent’s Office on Jalan Batu Sisir, Bukit Arai, Ranai, on Monday morning (10/3). The demonstration aimed to voice their concerns regarding regional budget efficiency measures, which have led to significant cuts in Additional Employee Income (TPP) for civil servants (ASN) in Natuna Regency.

To facilitate more effective two-way communication, Regent of Natuna, Cen Sui Lan, invited several representatives from the protesters to a closed meeting in her office.

During the protest, the healthcare workers put forward several demands, including:

1. The payment of TPP for November and December 2024 as well as February 2025.
2. A review of the TPP deduction policy, which they deemed unreasonable for ASN healthcare workers.
In response, Cen Sui Lan stated that she would follow up on the demands, even though the policy in question was implemented before she took office as Regent.

During the audience, an agreement was reached that the November 2024 TPP would be paid this month (March) after the delayed fund transfer from the Riau Islands Provincial Government is deposited into the regional treasury. However, the December TPP payment would be postponed, as the regional government would prioritize the disbursement of the 14th-month salary or holiday allowance (THR) first.

Cen Sui Lan also assured that she would uphold the rights of ASN, but with the expectation that they must work professionally and serve the public with dedication. She emphasized that professionalism in work would be compensated accordingly.

Additionally, she urged all government officials, particularly healthcare workers, to understand the current financial situation of the region, which is undergoing budget efficiency measures. She explained that these budget cuts were implemented to ensure that the government continues to function effectively.

Lastly, she requested patience and understanding, noting that she had only been in office for 19 days. She emphasized that time is needed to analyze the various issues before making informed decisions and policies to improve the quality of work across all sectors of development. (Pro_kopim/Patli)
