Welcoming Ceremony for the Newly Elected Regent and Deputy Regent: Natuna Regent Calls for a New Chapter in History

After attending the National Leadership Retreat at the Military Academy (Akmil) in Magelang, the newly elected Regent of Natuna for the 2025–2030 period, Cen Sui Lan, along with Deputy Regent Jarmin Sidik, returned to Natuna on Saturday afternoon (February 1).

A symbolic welcoming ceremony was held at Raden Sadjad Airport, marked by a floral garland presentation by the Chairman of the Natuna Regional House of Representatives (DPRD), accompanied by the Natuna Regional Secretary (Sekda) and the Regional Leadership Coordination Forum (Forkopimda).

Following the airport reception, the welcoming event continued at the Natuna Regional Hall. The ceremony began with the sprinkling of yellow rice, accompanied by traditional Malay drums, followed by a formal welcome ceremony led by IPDN Natuna and concluded with a silat martial arts performance and the tepuk tepung tawar blessing ritual.

The event was attended by the Natuna Regional Secretary, the Chairman and members of the DPRD Kabupaten Natuna, representatives from DPRD Kepulauan Riau, Forkopimda, the Chairman of LAM, religious and community leaders, heads of government departments (OPD), and the people of Natuna.

In her speech, Regent Cen Sui Lan expressed her heartfelt gratitude to all parties who contributed to her journey, allowing her to officially assume leadership of Natuna.

She also highlighted that this moment marks a historic milestone as Natuna is, for the first time, led by a female regional leader. She called on all stakeholders and the community to work together in building a more advanced and prosperous New Natuna.

Furthermore, she expressed her hope that, under her leadership, a new history would be created—one that prioritizes the welfare of the people. She emphasized that such progress could only be achieved through strong synergy and active public participation.

Deputy Regent Jarmin Sidik added that a regional leader cannot stand alone without the support of the community. Therefore, he stressed the importance of fostering harmony between the government and the people as a foundation for development.

The event concluded with a religious sermon (tausiyah) and a communal iftar (breaking of the fast), followed by congratulatory remarks from the Natuna Regional Secretary, the DPRD Chairman, Forkopimda, and the people of Natuna. Pro_kopim/Patli
